San Jose State Students Seek Funds For Tour Of Civil Rights History & Obama Inauguration

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications at San Jose State University is looking to send two photojournalism students, Carlos Moreno and Derek Sijder, along with eight other journalism students to the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama and a tour of historic landmarks of the civil rights movement in the South during winter break.

Moreno is photo editor and Sijder is a photographer for the SJSU newspaper Spartan Daily. During the ten-day trip they will produce stories around the course theme: "44 Years of the 44th President - Connecting Our Past With America's Historic Future."

SJSU is asking for donations of $25 or more. Checks payable to "SJSU Research Foundation - JMC Inauguration Trip"
