CNN Pitches A Cheaper Wire Service: For Newspapers, An Alternative To The AP?

The New York Times is reporting that this week editors from some 30 newspapers will visit CNN's Atlanta headquarters and hear plans to broaden its internal wire service, providing coverage of big national and international events — and maybe local ones — on a smaller scale and at a lower cost than The Associated Press.
